We say that the god of perfect goodness, love and holiness treats his children in ways that we put human parents in jail for or at least socially condemn. The scriptures tell us about an enemy whose desire is to afflict people (acts 10:38, 1 john 5:19), yet the deceiver wants us to think that our heavenly father is somehow complicit in his schemes.
